Managing Data Lineage

The data lineage views in DataGOL offer several features to help you manage and understand the details:

  • Expand/Collapse: You can expand or collapse nodes to show or hide details like tables and columns, allowing you to focus on specific parts of the lineage.
  • Zoom and Pan: Use zoom in and zoom out functionalities to get a better view of complex lineage diagrams. You can also pan across the graph to navigate different sections.
  • Fit to Frame: An icon is available to bring the entire lineage graph into the visible area.
  • Lock/Unlock Nodes: You can lock nodes to prevent them from being moved accidentally while exploring the lineage.
  • Realign nodes: A "magic wand" icon helps to automatically realign the nodes in the graph for better readability.
  • Metadata on selection: Clicking on a node (like a data source, table, or workbook) often displays additional metadata and details about that specific element in a panel on the side. For pipeline edges, clicking on them reveals information about the associated pipeline.
